Newsfeeds are different than blogs. How legit blogs are? I think it depends on who is behind it.
Blogs started to address voices of people including journalists. News feeds created to simply diseminate variety of news. I think internet is becoming such a strong assecable to all medium of communication, that makes blogs accountable as a good legit source. Back in years we had newspapers to get the news. Then tabloids came along and back then we were wondering the same question about which of the "papers" are legit. New York Times the newspaper created the online version. Are we questioning its legitimacy?
No, I dont think so....because its an eminet newspaper. The NYT has an OP-ED section which is the most famous section. In the internet blogs turn to get this fame simply because we want to say our own opinion, we want to raise our own voice. And by we I mean people not only journalists.
I d like to share a news story that I have experienced recently. The new appointed government in Greece (socialist party) listed online the new managerial openings to fill within the ministries. This is the first time in the greek political history to publish online a managerial governmental posts. After recieving pack of resumes they have hired a person to fill the Secretary General post in the Ministry of Finance. This person was a great qualified young professional who happend to have his own site on facebook. In his facebook page, he talks using bad language about the new government because he is a member of the New Democracy Poltical Party which is the opponent of the Government. After that the person lost his job.
So, is facebook legit enough to "make" a person losing his job?
