Going through the following websites I noticed:

Gawker.com

Its a trendy, hippy, teen-language-use, online magazine. Attractive layout and easy to search. Very downtown newyorkish style. I would use it as a journalist if I was doing a piece on inside edition, the show. However I wouldnt use it for a "60M" piece.

Rating: trustworthy but be careful!

MinnPost.com

Its a news website about everything on Minnesota. Nice layout, accessable and searchable. Adult language.
It can be used as a good source.

Rating: Trustworthy.

AlArabya.com

I have used this site as source when I was doing a piece on muslim issues. Its a news website, sophisticated and attractive layout. Even though it leans towards the arab world somehow it manages to be objective.

Rating: trustworthy.

NEWS BLOGS - LEGITIMACY

I came across to the following article...its readworthy.....
http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20090704/1355045441.shtml

Newsfeeds are different than blogs. How legit blogs are? I think it depends on who is behind it.
Blogs started to address voices of people including journalists. News feeds created to simply diseminate variety of news. I think internet is becoming such a strong assecable to all medium of communication, that makes blogs accountable as a good legit source. Back in years we had newspapers to get the news. Then tabloids came along and back then we were wondering the same question about which of the "papers" are legit. New York Times the newspaper created the online version. Are we questioning its legitimacy?
No, I dont think so....because its an eminet newspaper. The NYT has an OP-ED section which is the most famous section. In the internet blogs turn to get this fame simply because we want to say our own opinion, we want to raise our own voice. And by we I mean people not only journalists.

I d like to share a news story that I have experienced recently. The new appointed government in Greece (socialist party) listed online the new managerial openings to fill within the ministries. This is the first time in the greek political history to publish online a managerial governmental posts. After recieving pack of resumes they have hired a person to fill the Secretary General post in the Ministry of Finance. This person was a great qualified young professional who happend to have his own site on facebook. In his facebook page, he talks using bad language about the new government because he is a member of the New Democracy Poltical Party which is the opponent of the Government. After that the person lost his job.
So, is facebook legit enough to "make" a person losing his job?

Discussion: How much personal information should a journalist disclose on a blog? What about personal opinions? Is anything off limits? Should journa

I believe that a journalist should gather as much as info can get to develop a story. He/she needs to be objective as much as he/she can. I think the limit starts when a journalist becomes the "subject" on his/her story. We, as journalist, are humans and we have "issues" as the rest of the people. However our profession is very important because we vocalize others lifes, suffers, pains, accidents, issues (social or political). Yes we do get involved somehow but when it comes to writing, saying, uploading, the story we need to be clear and accurate. Even if we write the story on blog. News is news whatver medium we use to deseminate it.
As for personal opinions, I think as journalist when we research and report a story we develop our own opinion of the "right or wrong" the "truth of lie" to the story. I think we can say our own opinion using "delicacy" in the language if i can be clear, besides we are the communication people and language is a very strong tool we have to use it with dignity.
As having an anonymous blog, I think it depends on what you want to create. Its how it started in newspapers years ago in the column world.
